ADARTE is supported by Regional
Administration of Tuscany since 2002 and by
Italian Ministry of Arts and Culture since
2006.
After a long
ballet training, since 1994 she has further
improved in modern dance, contemporary
dance, improvisation and choreographic
composition
In 2001 she past the international audition
to enter in Accademia Isola Danza - Biennale
di Venezia, directed by Carolyn Carlson (further
training for choreographers and dancers).
Since 2002 she has started an artistic
collaboration with Carolyn Carlson:
Paola Vezzosi is choreographer and dancer in
“Frida” (a piece about Frida Kalho) produced
by ADARTE under supervision of Carolyn
Carlson. She organized the event “Incontri
con Carolyn Carlson”, a meeting/conference
with the American choreographer, in Italy-
Arezzo (April 2003).
Another great choreographer that marked
Vezzosi’s artistic path is the historical
exponent of German Tanztheater Susanne Linke.
In 2004 she danced for Susanne Linke in her
choreography “Assaggi di potere – Macht das
was?” (Versiliadanza production) and from
then until now she has kept an artistic
collaboration with this great artist.
Vezzosi’s piece, “Penelope - waiting songs”
(2005) is inserted in International Project
dedicated to Susanne Linke. So
“Penelope-Canti d’attesa” was performed in
several events linked to Susanne Linke (two
of these: “Esquisses Giotto & Sequenza 3-
Seele” (Mestre May 2005) on the occasion of
Italian premiere of “Esquisses Giotto” of
Susanne Linke; Fabbrica Europa 2005 – inside
“Linke Project” (Florence may 2005).
In 2005 Vezzosi was called to make the
choreography “Pulcinella” (Stravinsky’s
music – Suite Pulcinella) in exclusive for
Arena di Verona Ballet. “Pulcinella” was
inside the event “Trittico Novecento”
performed in Teatro Filarmonico in Verona (November
2005)
Interested to develop a personal research
about a language of movement linked both to
contemporary dance languages and
Theatre-dance, Paola Vezzosi was admitted to
watch rehearsals and to take the classes,
like guest dancer, with Wuppertal
Tanztheater of Pina Bausch in Paris (Theatre
de La Ville - Summer 2006).
Vezzosi’s works are performed in important
Theatres and Festivals (Festival Fabbrica
Europa - Firenze, Vignale Danza,
Volterrateatro, Festival Internazionale
Nuova Danza - Cagliari, Festival Arie di
mare, Radicondoli Arte, Teatro Filarmonico -
Verona, Festival Fuori Confine – Mestre etc.)
Collaborations
ADARTE took part in Versiliadanza’s
International Project “SUSANNE LINKE”.
In the first step of the Project Paola
Vezzosi (choreographer of ADARTE) was a
dancer in Susanne Linke’s creation “Assaggi
di potere Macht Das Was?” (VERSILIADANZA
company production 2004)
After that Paola Vezzosi was invited to
create a work about Linke’s Philosophy.
This philosophy is founded on a Trilogy:
Seele - Korper – Geist (Soul, Body and
Spirit).
“Penelope Canti d’attesa” (“Waiting songs”),
Vezzosi’s Choreography, develops a path
across these stages.
It was performed in important events linked
to Susanne Linke. For example:
